Check out this year’s BFD Subsonic Tent Lineup! I just revamped the whole page.  Now, you can read all about the artists playing this Sunday AND watch cool fun videos!  Get tickets before they’re gone!

Wolfgang Gartner

Austin, Texas

Wolfgang Gartner has established himself as one of the biggest and best Electro/House DJs on the planet. Tracks like “Space Junk” and “Undertaker” have become underground club anthems and he KILLED it last year at Spookfest. We are thirlled to have him headline the BFD 2011 Subsonic Tent. We’re giving him a full 90 minute DJ set. Lots of fist pumping should be expected. (Miles The DJ)

Blaqk Audio

Oakland/Los Angeles

Our dear friends in Blaqk Audio will make their BFD debut this year in the Subsonic Tent. Of course, Blaqk Audio is Davey and Jade of AFI (who headlined BFD back in 2006). Expect to hear brand new tracks mixed with songs from their great 2007 album CexCells. (Miles The DJ)

The South Bay’s The Limousines seem to be getting bigger and bigger. 2011 marks the third year in a row they will be performing live in the Subsonic Tent. After a stong year which saw the duo sign to DangerBird Records and the release of their debut album Get Sharp, expect this year’s Limos/BFD set to be the bands most powerful. (Miles The DJ)

Innerpartysystem are an electronic rock band which formed in Mohnton, Pennsylvania, United States in 2006. They started writing songs together, inspired by both by their love of electronic music (The Chemical Brothers, Daft Punk, Nine Inch Nails) and hardcore punk. Although the intensity of the band, in all its forms, has stayed consistent, the group saw its style begin to morph over time, becoming less “rock” and more digitally based. (

Harvard Bass

San Diego

Anyone who has ever watched the birth of a genre before knows that it almost always grows from the youth; the fresh perspective. Well, I’d like to present a candidate for that new sound in the form of new-comer Harvard Bass. In his early 20s, this San Diegoan seems to have stumbled, with his first original track, on a hell of jackin’ banger. If you have been through LA recently, you might recognize him as Sleazy V often seen amongst folk such as Paparazzi, Acid Girls, Johnny Love and so on. It’s interesting to me that someone that has come up in the blog house scene then comes back with straight up jackin’ house. I wonder if its a trend. I wonder if the pattern will persist and other young post bloghouse producers will follow suit. Regardless, this tune kills on the floor and I can’t wait to see what else ol’ Harvard Bass has got up his sleeve. (

RAC are a fantastic group of DJs/Producers known for remixing Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Phoenix, U2 and Kings Of Leon among others. One of the best club nights I remember throwing was when they spun at popscene a few months back. They had the audience in the palm of their hands, and based on Aaron Axelsen’s review of their many sets at SXSW west this year, I bet they’ll top themselves in the Subsonic Tent. They are that great. (Miles The DJ)

The Tenderlions are an electro-house duo from San Francisco. John and Evan have been making quite a name for themselves in the Bay Area indie club scene lately. They’ve opened up for artists like Simian Mobile Disco and even played our BFD pre-party back in 2009. (Miles The DJ)

St. John is quite simply: a radio legend.  I can’t freaking believe I’ll be spinning in the same tent as him.  I’m still pretty young so I think it’s okay to say I grew up listening (and looking up) to St..  Currently, he is the afternoon DJ at LIVE 105’s sister station 99.7 Now and hosts a fantastic weekend show called House Nation.  (Miles The DJ)

Recently called a Top 10 “High Note” of the decade in Bay Area music by the San Francisco Chronicle, Party Ben is best known for his genre-clobbering mashups, two of which were recently featured in the Adam Sandler comedy “Just Go With It.” But as a longtime producer of LIVE 105’s Subsonic and a current resident of 99.7 NOW’s House Nation, Party Ben can also bring the electro megajams, so shut up. Check out his recent remixes of Martin Solveig and fellow Subsonic tenters The Limousines if you don’t believe me, or, below, his power mix of MIA’s “Paper Planes.” (Party Ben Super Fan Jimmy)

Jeffrey Paradise

San Francisco

Jeffrey Paradise (along with his wife Ava) is perhaps best known to Bay Area club goers as the brain behind the mega successful parties Blow Up and Club 1994. There, he hand picks his favorite artists like Justice, Interpol, Chromeo, Glass Candy, !!!, Steve Aoki, DJ Funk, Uffie, and Yeah Yeah Yeahs to preform. Not satisfied with DJing alone, Jeffrey’s other musical project Poolside has been a staple on Subonic for weeks now. (Miles The DJ, with references from Jeffrey’s Facebook page)

With roots in early electronica, a rave promoter in the 90’s, previous pirate radio owner and manager, KidHack brings a wealth of style and experience to today’s electronica scene. Based in San Francisco, Kidhack has been pushing the bounds of his own style, mastering new sounds and dance beats. Well known in electro circles, KidHack has been turning heads in new spheres with forays into minimal techno, glitch hop, and dubstep. He has a passion for reading the dance floor and dropping crowd crazing beats. Fans describe his chill mixes as smooth and elegant, while heavier mixes have his signature aggressive, hyphy style. (

Miles The DJ works at LIVE 105 as a producer, on air “talent” and resident host of Subsonic.  He is also a resident DJ at club popscene at The Rickshaw Stop every Thursday in San Francisco.  He is also awesome. (Miles The DJ)

Dan B (in the place to be) is a LIVE 105 DJ.  You can hear him on Sunday mornings and on Subsonic as a resident DJ.  He is perhaps best known for ruining season 3 of Lost for me, but luckly… Lost ended up sucking at the end so it didn’t matter! In all seriousness, Dan B is a great DJ and a good friend of mine.  He’s been working here at LIVE 105 as long as I have (I think even longer in fact).  Get there early to see Dan kick of the tent right.
