1. Dr. Alex Zaphiris, a San Francisco family physician specializing in addiction recovery, talks about the new face of heroin addiction, why so many people are becoming addicted to heroin, the science of addiction, and the various recovery methods available. 3 out of 4 heroin addicts say they started with prescription pain killers like Vicodin, Percocet, and Oxycontin.
2. USS Hornet Museum board trustee Bob Fish and former NASA astronaut (STS 128) Jose Hernandez talks about the importance of the space program, space exploration, the history of the Apollo program, and the July 26th event to commemorate the 45th anniversary of the splashdown of Apollo 11, featuring Buzz Aldrin, on board the USS Hornet Museum.
3. Joshua Moore, a film programmer for the San Francisco Jewish Film Festival, talks about this years 70 films from 18 countries and the special events that will happen in San Francisco, San Rafael, Berkeley, Oakland, and Palo Alto. The Freedom of expression Award will go to Theodore Bikel. (July 24-August 10)
