I’m just a human in the world who likes free stuff. Are you also?
Cool, then let me introduce you to Score! Pop Up Swap, a fairy-tale sounding event where attendees grab any unwanted (but in good shape) clothes, shoes, jewelry, housewares, and of course, records and trade them with the’re fellow Bay Area brethren.
Oh, and it’s also a fundraiser for Hack the Hood, an organization that provides “design and technical training to low-income youth, who then use their skills to support local businesses and non-profits in the Bay Area.”
Here’s how it goes. From 5-8 pm on August 21, Score! is invading the lot currently the SOMA StrEat Food Park (428 11th St between Harrison & Bryant) and building a makeshift “department store” made up of guests tradeable stuff. Once you get there, you drop off your stuff at curated departments and then take whatever you want. There will be food and beer and sangria specials (shopping makes you hungry, you know), as well as music, nail art, and photobooths.
Leftover items will be donated to Goodwill.
Ticket prices are as follows:
$7 Early Bird Tix (limited)
$10 Advanced Tix
$15 at the door
$10 awesome hand-printed Score! bags presented by Swapdom
