Apparently, it is possible for tennis matches to last for days on end. While the Isner-Mahut match-up in 2010 (which went 11 hours) reigns as the longest recorded match in tennis history, hypothetically-speaking, it could have gone much longer. It could have even lasted, say, several days, at least.

Anyway, that’s the premise of the new mockumentary set to premiere on HBO this summer. The special, which stars Andy Samberg (“SNL”, “Brooklyn 99”) and Kit Harington (“Game of Thrones”), sets up two major tennis stars in an epic showdown that eventually leads to the rivals playing a seemingly endless match.

It is, as Will Forte’s character emphatically proclaims to the camera, “Seven days in hell.”

(He’s right. It does make a good title.)

“7 Days in Hell” premieres July 11 on HBO.
