Calling all redheads: if this Facebook event listing is to be believed, a whole swarm of gingers will be flocking to Dolores Park in San Francisco this week.

Ginger festivals like the Redhead Day fest in the Netherlands are an actual thing that happens around Europe, but as of late (or as of ever?) a festival dedicated to red-haired men and women has not yet occurred on Bay Area soil.

That’s all (probably) about to change this weekend, when at least a fraction of 700 or so people who have RSVP’d to this self-touted festival make their way to Dolores Park this Thursday at 6:00 p.m.

There are no scheduled events planned (at least that are advertised), so its declaration of being a “festival” seems exaggerated, but if a large group of gingers indeed makes their way to the Mission District, it certainly will at least be a success of a party.

RSVP to the Facebook page here.
