Brittany Howard’s band, Alabama Shakes, might have just dropped Sound & Color only a few short months ago, but it’s clear that the singer and guitarist has barely been resting since its release.

Today, Howard surprised fans with a brand new 10-song LP, released under the eponym Thunderbitch today via the project’s official website The album is streamable at the official site, and is available for purchase at iTunes for $8.

Joining Howard in the group are members of other Nashville bands including Fly Golden Eagle and Clear Plastic Masks, but according to Rolling Stonethe band is not new — Thunderbitch played in a restaurant shortly after Alabama Shakes was nominated for several Grammy Awards. Still, there are no live shows on the books for anytime soon.
