Michael Franti and Spearhead are headlining the Power to the Peaceful Festival in San Francisco with a free concert in Golden Gate Park on September 11th and a post-concert fundraising party that night, an acoustic concert on September 10th at the Fillmore, and a day of yoga, Brazilian dance and a kids’ concert on September 12th. Simon Rich writes books and magazine  pieces and he’s a writer for Saturday night Live.  His new novel is “Elliot Allagash,” the story of Elliot, an evil middle schooler who decides to use Seymour, a geeky student whose biggest thrill is drinking loads of chocolate milk every day in the school cafeteria, in a social experiment…craziness ensues…
